ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
AND
CHECKLIST

  • Age: New students must be between the ages of 13 - 17 years old on the first day of the school year.

  • Grade Level:  Students should be in 9th - 12th grade and enrolling in a grade level that is typical for a student of that age.  (note: Mirus Academy is primarily a high school; however academically strong 8th graders may also be accepted) 

  • Citizenship: Students must either be US Citizens or living with parents who are in the USA on a work visa. Mirus is NOT able to accept international students attending school on a student visa. 

  • Testing: Mirus Academy requires applicants to have scored at the 50th percentile or higher on previous standardized tests (STAAR, ITBS, Stanford, Terra Nova, etc).  If a student does not have recent standardized test scores, Mirus may require testing as part of the admissions process.  Mirus does not require the ISEE, but accepts the scores if they are available. 

  • Report Cards: The past 3 years of report cards should indicate that all classes were passed for the semester/year (note: If a health concern has caused educational disruptions, please let us know)  ​

  • Disciplinary History: New students may not have a history of suspension, alternate placement, expulsion, or illegal activity within the past 3 years. 

  • Special Needs: Mirus accepts students with physical, emotional, and educational challenges in the “mild to moderate” range, as long as that student is on grade level, does not require modified curriculum, has age-appropriate social skills, and is otherwise a good fit for Mirus’s unique learning environment.  For specific details, please view the following page:
